So anyone that knows me knows that I am a huge music fan. I love most any kind of music from Old Country, Oldies, Rock, Jazz, Pop or Classical I enjoy pretty much anything and everything. My kids and I text each other random song lyrics all the time with the hope that they know the rest, for instance…Sitting in tha morning sun, I’ll be sitting…..??  Or, Lazy yellow moon coming up tonight shining thru tha…..??

Anyhoo, The last song I heard this morning on my drive in to the store was One Horse Town by Blackberry Smoke. The opening lyrics are and I quote,

“ In the tiny town where I come from you grew up doing what your daddy does, you don’t ask questions you do it just because…You don’t climb to high or dream too much, with a whole lot of work and a little bit of luck you can wind up right back where your daddy was”.

I really like this song and for a farm raised country boy those words hit the spot. I am proud to have a daddy that molded me into what I am today. He taught me the fundamentals and patience that have gotten me thru a lot of life’s curve balls.

To work hard, use your head, don’t act stupid, help others, don’t act stupid (yeah twice) and more than anything just to have fun!

I haven’t announced this before but any day now I will become a grandpa, for real, a grandpa (even though little Ava Grace is gonna call me Cool instead of grandpa, I can hear it now…”hey where’s Cool?”…”Oh… right here I am”…Classic!).

I am proud of my son Dallas (Gracie) I know he will be a great dad just like mine was to me! Just remember to be calm, use your head and don’t act stupid!!

Just like the song this Father’s day I hope I can wind up back where my daddy was because he is everything I know and what I am! I am proud of my daddy and always will be!! Love ya Pops!!

Happy Fathers Day!!
